Well, I had my first week last week with kindergarteners and let me tell ya, I think they're the best thing to ever walk the planet! It was crazy to me what a difference there is between kindergarteners and first graders; that year difference is a big deal! I'm really excited that I got placed in a kindergarten classroom for my practicum. I've learned that you either love the primary grades or you don't. I've realized that the primary grades are definitely where I belong. Getting to work with these kids makes me that much more excited to be a teacher. They are a new experience for me every single day and I love the joy that they bring to my life. I am not a morning person at all and let me tell ya, I've finally found something that makes me look forward to getting up in the morning...my kindergarteners! :)

Too often we go through life day by day, week by week, without really stopping to take a moment to be thankful. The only time you really hear a thousand people talking about all the things they're thankful for in life is on Thanksgiving and other holidays. I, myself, am guilty of it as well. I feel like it takes something bad happening in our lives to make us stop for a moment and think about all the things we have to be thankful for. No matter the kind of life that you had or have there is always something good you can find to be thankful for. So, I challenge you to make that call to a friend that you feel you haven't had time to call, tell someone you love them that needs to hear it, and overall, just be thankful and let the people you care about know that you care about them. All too often we go through life without telling people how thankful we are for them and it's often too late before we realize it.

I have twin nieces that are two years old. They are growing so fast and I can't get enough of them! They're at that age where they know when they're being naughty and they look you in the eye while they do things they know they're not supposed to. They are hilarious and full of new adventures every day. My sister tells them whenever I come home from college that Aunt Enny is coming home today and they stand at the window saying, "Enny, Enny, Enny!" They wait for me until I come to the door and as soon as I walk in they start screaming my name and run over to me. It is the best feeling to see how excited they are when I come home. I have watched them grow and change and I love them so much. They can go from naughty to the biggest sweethearts in the world in .2 seconds. They are starting to wrestle and fight each other now and it is probably the funniest thing I have ever seen. When one of them is being naughty the other one will say, "no sissy, no!" They are so full of life and personality that it makes my heart happy. They have helped me realize how special children really are and I can't imagine how anyone could ever harm or hurt such an innocent human being like a child. You know that saying, "The closest thing to Heaven is a child?" I couldn't agree more with that statement.
